And fast. I stopped by the open test day at Sonoma Raceway this morning on my way into work and let me tell you, these things are stronger then coffee...

Sooo excited for Indy Car this season. I am going to StPete Opener in a few weeks. I used to live in walking distance of the track and could hear the screaming for days during tests/trials.
I have Grand Stand Seats and am looking forward to the roar again. I even got my dad interested (who is also an Engineer). So the two of us geek out on the engineering aspects.

Me and Jalop/OPPonaut Diesel stood 10 feet from them in Houston. Ears still bleeding from that glorious sound. Take notes F1!!

Depending what year....I was there too! It rained one day and was super hot the whole time.

You haven’t heard loud until you’ve heard 30 of them scream past you at 220 MPH on the high banks of MIS. Went to the very last race in 2007 (The one where Danica ran down pit road after the race and tried to fight someone). I HAD to wear ear protection because the sound was hurting my ear drums. It was the best.

I liked the track, plenty of parking and there was that one building that seemed like a flea market which had awesome AC and a few prototype cars. We’d go in there (get free Shell stuff, much to the displeasure of my friend who works for Exxon) and cool off.
It wasn’t very crowded so it couldn’t be good for sales, but the Drivers were just milling about and I chatted with all of them as they seemed bored.
I did like the intercoolers they put into the cars to keep the drivers cool!
Graham hit TK right in front of me on the last turn...I was disappointed.

Yeah that arena was nice and cold. I was looking at those P2 car when Helio came though some door and was just walking around like normal between everyone. I guess it was just to hot and too bumpy for them. It was in downtown a long time ago in the CART days
